The Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum is in a three-story building with more than 3,000 square meters of space for exhibitions. It has about 2,000 artifacts on display in its permanent galleries, which include art from ancient times to the present. The museum has a permanent collection, but it also regularly hosts solo and group exhibitions by different artists and groups. This makes it a lively place for artists to share their work. The museum also puts on traveling exhibitions every year, both in the US and around the world. These exhibitions have taken place in places like the US, Russia, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Laos, and more.
Visitors can look through a large collection of Vietnamese folk art that has bright colors and lively themes about worship, celebrations, daily life, and famous people from history. Some well-known examples are Dong Ho prints, Kim Hoang paintings, and folk art from Sinh Village.
The folk sculpture collection, made of terracotta, metal, and carved wood, shows traditional Vietnamese life and customs in a very clear way. The ceramic collection gives the museum a graceful rhythm. It includes glazed and unglazed pottery from different times, such as crackle-glazed ceramics, celadon, brown-patterned ceramics from the Ly and Tran dynasties, blue-and-white wares, and modern ceramics.

It has fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage kids to explore, feel, and experience art by interacting with museum collections like paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and folk art.
