Day 2: Bangkok City Tour

After breakfast, the guide will pick you up at the hotel. This tour of Bangkok's most prominent temples will immerse you in the city's rich history and spiritual legacy.  From the towering Grand Palace to the breathtaking Wat Pho and Wat Arun, this guided walking tour takes you through centuries of Thai art, culture, and religion.

Begin your day by seeing Thailand's renowned Grand Palace, a symbol of the royal family and an architectural marvel.  Wander around the beautiful temples, including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), which houses one of Thailand's most holy Buddha images.  Admire the beautiful features of the palace's golden spires and murals, while your guide explains their historical significance.

Continue to Wat Pho, where you'll see the colossal 46-meter-long Reclining Buddha, covered in gold leaf.  This temple, also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, is a must-see for its peaceful atmosphere and rich cultural past.

After that, cross the Chao Phraya River to visit Wat Arun, one of Bangkok's most recognizable monuments.  Wat Arun is known for its tall prang (spire) that is artistically embellished with multicolored porcelain and provides stunning views of the river and cityscape.  Climb the temple's steep steps to see the exquisite sculptures up close and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic vistas.

Our afternoon ends in Bangkok's Chinatown, which is one of the city's oldest areas. It is possible to buy almost anything you can think of in this chaotic labyrinth of narrow streets and busy sois (alleys), which are overrun with restaurants, stores, street markets, and food booths. You will also make a pit stop to try some of the most delicious food the city has to offer, such as odd snacks in a market, some of the best noodles in the city, or dessert. There is no need to bother eating in advance because you won't feel hungry at any point during the event. Throughout the course of the tour, vegetarian meal alternatives will be provided.

The tour guide will pick you up at 7 a.m., and you'll spend the day touring the best of the province of Kanchanaburi in western Thailand.

First, check out the trains going by at the Maeklong Railway Market, where you can view the train passing over the market on the train track. Don't forget to taste some Thai desserts and fruits at the market.

Damnoensaduak Floating Market is the next destination. Drive to the pier and get a small private boat for the canal tour (about 30 mins). The boat will pass through the Damnoensaduak Floating Market in where the villagers sell their fruits and food on their paddle boats.

After that, take a transfer to the province of Kanchanaburi for a traditional Thai lunch

Day 4: Bangkok – Ayutthaya (overnight on the train)

Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam during its golden age, and its temple ruins are a sight to behold.

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for the drive to Wat Lokayasutha, which is the first stop in Ayutthaya, after traveling there in a luxurious and air-conditioned vehicle from Bangkok. This temple is famous for its enormous picture of a Buddha that is reclining Buddha because it is one of the few constructions that have been preserved here.

Your next stop will be at Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, which is located within the complex of the royal palace and was used by the royal family for religious ceremonies. It is widely acknowledged as Ayutthaya's most significant religious structure.

After that, you should go to Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya. It is said that the sacred relic of the Buddha was formerly kept within this temple, making it one of the oldest and most important in Ayutthaya's history. Take a moment to appreciate the iconic Buddha head that has been sculpted into the roots of a Bodhi tree.

You will have a delicious lunch at a local Thai restaurant, where your guide will be available to provide recommendations on the regional delicacies served there.

Your journey should come to a close at the magnificent Wat Chaiwattanaram, which is located along the river. As you make your way through the gigantic grounds, don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for the captivating architectural style that was inspired by the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia. After that, you'll get access to a day room at a local hotel in Ayutthaya to unwind and clean up before the overnight train ride north.

Overnight on the train

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch

Note: Going on the overnight train, you will be in a soft sleeping class. There are air conditioning, bunk beds, sheets, and a pillow, as well as multishare spaces. For private and, more importantly, to block the light that can make it hard to sleep, there is a curtain over each berth. This is because the central lights are on all night. Every bed has a plug socket and a reading light, so people can charge their phones and laptops or read while they ride the train. To help you sleep better, please bring a sleep mask and earplugs. On board, you can also get food and drinks. Keep in mind that your bags will ride with you in the carriage.

Day 5: Chiang Mai

Start your day in Chiang Mai, the liveliest city in northern Thailand. The city is famous for its kind, welcoming inhabitants in addition to its fascinating ancient town and magnificent temples. As you reach the peak of Doi Suthep, one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand, you will be rewarded for your ascent. From this vantage point, you can take in breathtaking views of the city below, and if you're lucky, you can hear the local Buddhist monks chanting in the evening. Get back to Chiang Mai in the evening, when you should have some free time to explore the vibrant night market or dine at one of the many excellent waterfront restaurants. Without a doubt, you must have Kao soy, the characteristic meal of the north, which consists of yellow wheat noodles cooked in a curry broth with your choice of chicken or beef.

Day 6: Chiang Mai – Elephants experience

Start a new day with fresh air and breakfast at your hotel.

Begin from your hotel, take a trip to the southwest of Chiang Mai, and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you pass by local farms, communities inhabited by hill tribes, and rice fields.

You should take a trip to the Mae Wang Waterfalls so that you may unwind and cool off in the water there. The Elephant Sanctuary, which is located deep in the jungle, is where you will arrive. A host will greet you as you enter the sanctuary, and then a guide will take you through the entire experience.

Take a moment to learn about elephants. As you learn how to make healthy treats for the elephants, you will learn new things. Take the elephants you saved out for a walk and feed, and pet them. Watch the elephants look for food and the families of elephants converse with each other. Elephants bathing in the river is one of their favorite things to do. After a cool swim, they will walk to a place where they will be given more food as a farewell gift.

Before being dropped off at your accommodation in Chiang Mai, you will finish off the day with a bamboo rafting ride along the Mae Wang River, which is known for its breathtaking scenery.

After a journey of one hour back to Chiang Mai, you will be dropped off at your hotel. The rest of the day is at your disposal to do as you like.

This potent phenomenon emerges at a temperature of 99 degrees from deep inside the Earth in a gushing motion. The people of Thailand think that it has natural characteristics that are beneficial to the complexion of the skin! On the drive there, lunch will be provided at a nearby restaurant.

Make a stop at the magnificent Pai Canyon, which is characterized by attractive red sandstone, on the way to the accommodation in Pai. The hike to the lookout above the canyon is only a short distance.

When they enter the cave after 4 p.m., visitors will be able to watch a truly extraordinary spectacle, which consists of thousands of swifts flying into the caves to roost and an equally remarkable number of bats flying out of the caves for the night.

The community of Jabo can be found near Tham Lod. Inhabited by members of the vibrant Black Lahu Tribe, who are known for their kind hospitality. Instead of the destructive agricultural practices used elsewhere, the community decided to build its tourist program in order to demonstrate its culture, traditional values, healing methods, and capacity to live in harmony with nature. This was done in place of the farming methods used elsewhere.

Once you get to the hamlet, you will be shown the environment-friendly techniques that the local villagers have widely used for generations and continue to use in the present day.

Visit a local family after a day of farming to relax with a foot massage and herbal foot bath. At the end of the day, you'll take a break from your travels by returning via horseback to your hotel. In the afternoon, we will be going on a walking and eating trip.

Upon arrival, you will view a brief instructional movie before visiting the tunnels, the most renowned battlegrounds of the period. It is thought that the concealed network of Viet Cong tunnels spanned "hundreds of miles" in total length and contained living quarters, storage areas, temporary hospitals, kitchens, etc. Although the system was initially somewhat narrow, some sections have been enlarged for tourists, and you have the option to explore them.

Please note that these tunnels will be hot and claustrophobic, so if you want to watch from above ground, that is an option.

After breakfast, your driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Ben Tre Town, which is referred to as the "rice bowl" of Vietnam because of its extensive rice fields, intricate canal system, and picturesque surroundings.

To get to Ben Tre town, where you will board a motorized boat excursion around the picturesque River and see several local industries along the route, it takes around two hours of driving through the fertile farmland countryside. While on the boat, we'll make stops at the modest local factory housing the mat-weaving business and the coconut processing workshops. Visit a quiet village where you may take a little stroll to see how the inhabitants live their daily lives and sample fresh fruits and honey tea. Continue your tour by stopping at a workshop in a coconut mill where a variety of expertly handcrafted coconut husk and fiber goods are made, including the local delicacy of coconut candy.

After that, go for a motorcycle (Xe Loi) ride or a bicycle excursion to visit the village's coconut and vegetable orchard plantations. Then you've finished your tour, your guide will take you for lunch at a local restaurant beside a river.

Afternoon

Take a small sampan to row around the coconut canals after lunch for the stunning view. The canals are secret streams that are bordered by a huge variety of tropical vegetation. The peaceful, rural environment is a refreshing and healing retreat from the hectic, distant HCM City. When the boat returns, the bus will pick up passengers at the pier and depart for Ho Chi Minh City.

The night is all yours. Let's go on a nighttime tour of Ho Chi Minh by yourself.

Day 26: Sieam Reap – Angkor Wat

Today, with the assistance of your guide and driver, you will spend an entire day touring the 400-square-kilometer Angkor Archaeological Park, which includes forested areas. The park features the beautiful ruins of five Khmer capitals from the ninth to the fifteenth century.

Morning

Begin with an early pickup from your accommodation in an air-conditioned car, then go to the main entrance of Angkor Wat to witness the breathtaking dawn over this ancient and mystical structure.

Avoid the crowds by beginning your day with a visit to the 13th-century Ta Prohm, a hauntingly beautiful temple where the roots of giant banyans and strangler figs entwine much of the stonework, creating scenes that have changed little since the French explorer Henri Mouhot rediscovered Angkor in 1863. This temple makes the 'Tomb Raider Temple' one of the most memorable and magnificent Angkor monuments.

Continue your explorations by visiting Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Great Khmer Empire, which once dominated a large portion of Southeast Asia. This city is enclosed by an 8-meter-tall wall that forms a perfect square. You will enter the city through the old South Gate, a colossal stone gate engraved with four enormous faces and elephants. A row of 54 gods or demons holds the sacred Naga serpent on each side of the entranceway.

Return to the hotel for a break from the midday heat at the hotel.

Afternoon

Your adventures will continue when you visit the late 12th-century Buddhist monastery Banteay Kdei ("Citadel of Chambers") and Sra Srang, also known as the "pool of ablutions." The Bayon Temple is located in the precise center of the historic city. This majestic masterpiece from the 12th century is famous for its 54 towers with mysterious faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.

Both the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are noted for their exquisite bas-reliefs; therefore, you will also see them. On your stroll through the grounds of the ancient Royal Palace, you will see several little-visited, secret temples.

Take a leisurely gondola boat ride across the moats of Angkor Thom to end your day of touring. Imagine the royal metropolis when it controlled over two million people nearly 800 years ago in peaceful isolation. As the sun approaches the horizon, make your way to Prasat Chrung, a modest temple built in the manner of Bayon, and ascend an iron staircase to a secluded spot for spectacular views of the ruins at sunset.

Overnight in Siem Reap

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 27: Siem Reap - Kulen Mountain - Beng Mealea - Tonle Sap

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. The tour guide will pick you up and head to Kulen Mountain. After purchasing your ticket to Kulen Mountain, the trip begins with a breathtaking 1-hour drive through rice paddies and traditional Cambodian towns, providing a look into local life and picturesque scenery.

Visit the Palm Cake Village to experience traditional palm cake.  Next, follow a local guide to Phnom Kulen's hilltop. Explore the park's features, which include spectacular waterfalls, a reclining Buddha monument, and the River of Thousand Lingas, which dates from 802 AD.

After the visit, stop for a picnic at a nearby waterfall, where you can enjoy grilled chicken with seasonal fruits and swim in the waterfalls before heading deep into the rainforest to explore Beng Melea, a mysterious 12th-century jungle from the Angkor Wat period that has been overgrown with 300 years of vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses.

Continue the trek by boat to Kampong Phluk, a floating village. Witness the daily life of fishermen's families that live in brightly colored stilt cottages. Boating through the flooded splendor of a mangrove forest, home to a variety of animals, including crab-eating macaques.

Before returning to Siem Reap, pay a visit to a Buddhist monastery on an artificial island, where you may immerse yourself in Cambodian culture and natural beauty.

Visas and Entry Requirements

1. Vietnam

If you need a visa for Vietnam, you need to get one before your trip. You can't get one immediately when you get there because it takes processing time. If you are going to enter Vietnam through a land border, you will need to apply for a regular Vietnam visa. The Vietnam E-Visa is not accepted at many of the land borders we cross. You can apply for the e-visa to visit Vietnam through the website:

https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt. Entry to Vietnam with an eVisa is supported at 13 airports, 16 land borders, and 13 seaports - details can be found here

2. Thailand

Most people from most countries do not need a visa to visit Thailand for 30 days or less, but if you do, you can get one when you get to Bangkok Airport. You will need to get a vacation visa ahead of time if you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days. When you enter Thailand by land, you can only get a tourist visa good for 15 days.

New requirement to enter Thailand – starting May 1, 2025

Starting on this date, all foreign travellers must complete the Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at least 3 days before their arrival. Review the requirements and complete the form at: http://tdac.immigration.go.th

3. Cambodia

We suggest that you apply for your Cambodian tourist visa online so that you do not have to wait as long at the border. This will make your trip better overall.

Ways to get it:

Online: Get your Cambodian e-Visa at least seven days before your trip.  The cost is about USD 36. Click on the page below and choose "VISA T."  If you are coming by land, the port of entry is "Bavet." If you take a flight, the port of entry is "Phnom Penh Airport."  Visit https://www.evisa.gov.kh/ to get your visa.

On Arrival: If you were unable to process the visa online, do not worry—you can get one at the Cambodian border when you arrive. If this happens, you will need to bring a passport-sized picture (35 x 45 mm) and USD 36 to pay the tax.

Travel Insurance

It is a thrilling experience to embark on your next journey, and although you wish that the unexpected does not occur, it is advisable to be adequately prepared. We strongly advise that you obtain travel insurance at the time of booking. It is crucial to guarantee that you are adequately safeguarded, regardless of whether it is a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, delayed baggage, or an unforeseen event. If you are unable to secure travel insurance for any reason, you may be obligated to sign a waiver and/or submit a letter from a medical professional that verifies your fitness for travel.
