It is one of the 100 largest freshwater lakes in the world and is located in the Ba Be National Park, which is recognized as a national tourist site in Vietnam.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: HANOI – BA BE LAKE (L, D)
7.30 - 8:00 Tour guide and drive pick you up at hotel in Hanoi Old Town and then hit the road north towards Ba Be National Park. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant on the way. Continue the journey, the bus will take you up through the mountains and tea plantations to Ba Be Lake, it is a wonderful green lake in the middle of a natural green forest. Then you will go to the Tay village of Coc Toc, with beautiful stilts. After check in your hotel and take a rest, You start exploring the natural landscape here. The Hua Ma cave is next place. Inside the cave are many stalactites with many shapes.
Option 2: walking or cycling around Coc Toc village, kayaking on the lake and relaxing in the peaceful surroundings and enjoying the views.
Day 2: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi (B, L)
After breakfast at the homestay, you get a boat trip. the boat take you go sightseeing arround Ba Be Lake. This is a great chance to enjoy the stunning scenery with amazing rock formations. And if you feel the need to cool your body then this is the opportunity for you can jump into the cool, clean waters for a refreshing swim! And then, the boat will come to Puong Cave where you can explore the stalactites and stalagmites which are a result of the erosion of the river on the karst as well as looking out for the bat colony several thousand strong. After that, you get the bus to go to the local restaurant. You have lunch and resting. And then, come back Hanoi city. The bus drop off at Hanoi Old Town about 17:30.
