As soon as you set foot in this vibrant metropolis, you will feel the stifling heat and hectic pace of Thailand's bustling capital. After you have checked into our hotel, you are free to do some independent sightseeing, relax your muscles with a therapeutic massage, or just lie by the pool and take in the first rays of that delicious Thai sunlight.

In the evening, you can join an optional Dinner and Cruise tour on the Chao Phraya River*.

Overnight in Bangkok

Meals included: Dinner

Optional Dinner and Cruise: Embark on a large and elegant boat and see the breathtaking and unequaled beauty of Bangkok's Chao Phraya River at night. Experience a memorable dinner cruise in a romantic setting beneath the starry sky, surrounded by dazzling stars. As you sail, take in Bangkok's most recognizable sights, such as Wat Arun, Wat Kalayanamit, the Grand Palace, ICONSIAM, and the Rama VIII Bridge, which are all beautifully illuminated against the night sky. Indulge in an excellent international buffet crafted by professional chefs, with over 30 scrumptious delicacies (drinks not included). Enjoy quality care from the time you board until you safely return to shore, assuring a stress-free and genuinely memorable evening for you and your loved ones.

Warning: This Optional activity is only available if your flight lands in Bangkok before 2 pm.

Day 2: Bangkok City Tour

After breakfast, the guide will pick you up at the hotel. This tour of Bangkok's most prominent temples will immerse you in the city's rich history and spiritual legacy. From the towering Grand Palace to the breathtaking Wat Pho and Wat Arun, this guided walking tour takes you through centuries of Thai art, culture, and religion.

Begin your day by seeing Thailand's renowned Grand Palace, a symbol of the royal family and an architectural marvel. Wander around the beautiful temples, including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), which houses one of Thailand's most holy Buddha images. Admire the beautiful features of the palace's golden spires and murals, while your guide explains their historical significance.

Continue to Wat Pho, where you'll see the colossal 46-meter-long Reclining Buddha, covered in gold leaf. This temple, also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, is a must-see for its peaceful atmosphere and rich cultural past.

After that, cross the Chao Phraya River to visit Wat Arun, one of Bangkok's most recognizable monuments. Wat Arun is known for its tall prang (spire) that is artistically embellished with multicolored porcelain and provides stunning views of the river and cityscape. Climb the temple's steep steps to see the exquisite sculptures up close and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic vistas.

Our afternoon ends in Bangkok's Chinatown, which is one of the city's oldest areas. It is possible to buy almost anything you can think of in this chaotic labyrinth of narrow streets and busy sois (alleys), which are overrun with restaurants, stores, street markets, and food booths. You will also make a pit stop to try some of the most delicious food the city has to offer, such as odd snacks in a market, some of the best noodles in the city, or dessert. There is no need to bother eating in advance because you won't feel hungry at any point during the event. Throughout the course of the tour, vegetarian meal alternatives will be provided.

Day 3: Bangkok - Damnoensaduak Floating Market - Kanchanaburi

Crazy Market

Leave early in the morning after breakfast for the two-hour trip to the Damnoen Saduak floating market.

On the way, stop by the Maeklong Railway Market. Its name says it all: it is a market with a train moving past it several times a day. If the things for sale are not on the train tracks, they are very close to them. Vendors leap out of their chairs and pull back their awnings and, if necessary, their goods every time the train is due to go by.

Go to the Damnoen Saduak floating market, which is 100 years old. This lively, floating market is the most famous in Thailand. It has small boats full of colorful fruits and vegetables, and Thai women wearing bamboo hats paddle them. It is one of the few sites where you can still see this old-fashioned style of purchasing and selling things.

The market is almost always full of people, including customers, sellers, and tourists. The best way to get a feel for how busy it is is to go on a boat and sail around the small canals, buying fresh local vegetables from the vendors along the way.

After that, take a transfer to the province of Kanchanaburi for a traditional Thai lunch

Go see the Bridge on the River Kwai and find out what role it played in World War II. The Kwai Bridge was made popular by the eponymous film. The "Krasae Buddha Cave" is worth getting there in the hour-long drive; it served as a POW camp in World War II. The last one, enjoy a 30-minute train trip along the abandoned Death railway bridge over the Kwai River.

You will get back to your Bangkok hotel between 19:00 and 20:00.

Overnight in Bangkok

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 4: Bangkok – Chiang Mai

Meet your driver after breakfast and check out for your transfer and flight to Chiang Mai.

Upon arrival at Chiang Mai Airport, please proceed to the Information Booth (AOT). Here you will find your guide waiting for you holding the signboard with your name on it.

After you check in at your hotel, start the Chiang Mai trip by climbing the 309 steps to Doi Suthep Temple. After you climb the stairs, enjoy the golden rays of dawn and take pictures of the amazing panorama of Chiang Mai.

After that, proceed to Wat Pha Lat, a hidden temple in the thick jungle, and stand in the shade of the golden Kruba Srivichai Monument. Look at the peaceful sculptures, shrines, and nature around them.

End your half-day journey at Wat Umong, a 700-year-old temple that was built in 1297. Go into the trees and the tunnels below the earth. Look at the chedi's amazing architecture.

Have fun exploring in a way that does not hurt. On this trip, you see eco-friendly places that always provide water in glass bottles and offset carbon emissions, which lowers your carbon footprint and environmental impact.

Overnight in Chiang Mai

Meals included: Breakfast

Day 5: Chiang Mai - Thai Elephant Home

Start a new day with fresh air and breakfast at your hotel.

Begin from your hotel, take a trip to the southwest of Chiang Mai and enjoy the beautiful scenery as you pass by local farms, communities inhabited by hill tribes, and rice fields.

You should take a trip to the Mae Wang Waterfalls so that you may unwind and cool off in the water there. The Elephant Sanctuary, which is located deep in the jungle, is where you will arrive. A host will greet you as you enter the sanctuary, and then a guide will take you through the entire experience.

Take a moment to learn about elephants. As you learn how to make healthy treats for the elephants, you will learn new things. Take the elephants you saved out for a walk and feed, and pet them. Watch the elephants look for food and the families of elephants converse with each other. Elephants bathing in the river is one of their favorite things to do. After a cool swim, they will walk to a place where they will be given more food as a farewell gift.

Before being dropped off at your accommodation in Chiang Mai, you will finish off the day with a bamboo rafting ride along the Mae Wang River, which is known for its breathtaking scenery.

After a journey of one hour back to Chiang Mai, you will be dropped off at your hotel. The rest of the day is at your disposal to do as you like.

Overnight in Chiang Mai

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch

Note: You should bring extra clothes, comfortable shoes, sandals you don't mind getting wet and dirty, shampoo and soap, a camera, and mosquito spray or bug repellent.

Day 6: Chiang Mai – Chiang Rai Temple

Take a one-day trip from Chiang Mai to the beautiful city of Chiang Rai, where you can see old temples and peaceful scenery. This tour is great for people who want to see the rich culture of northern Thailand in a short but satisfying trip.

Start your trip in Mae Kachan Hot Springs, which is a great place to rest in warm mineral waters before going deeper into Chiang Rai. It is an excellent place to stop and get some rest before the big events of the day.

The next place you should go is a hill tribe community where the long-neck Mae Kachan tribe lives. You will see the unusual custom of women wearing brass rings to make their necks longer. This is a cultural habit that has been passed down through the years. Their rich heritage may be seen in the vivid clothes, vibrant handmade items, and friendly people. Going to this village is not only a visual excursion, but it also gives you a taste of the culture and traditions of this amazing community.

The White Temple is your next stop. It was made by the amazing artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The beautiful all-white design stands for purity, and the detailed glasswork shows how wise Buddha was. Surreal murals mix Buddhist motifs with modern art, creating a one-of-a-kind mix of spirituality and modern art. It is not just a sight to see; it is also a deep experience.

Next, you will see the beautiful Blue Temple, which is famous for its bright blue walls and golden decorations. Intricate patterns and peaceful Buddha sculptures add to the mystical feel of the place. The temple's modern but traditional style makes for a vibrant and interesting experience. Dragon statues guard the entry, and a tranquil Buddha sits inside.

Hauyplakang Temple, a tranquil spiritual place with a beautiful nine-tiered pagoda. You will see exquisite carvings and Buddhist statues as you go up each level. The figure of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, is another reason why the temple is famous. It stands for compassion. The pagoda's views are amazing, and they are one of the best parts of the trip.

This trip shows you both well-known sights and lesser-known ones that give you a taste of what life is really like in Chiang Rai. Visiting quiet towns and smaller, less well-known temples gives you a better insight into the area's culture and customs. There are Lanna, Burmese, and Thai influences in the area, which makes for a unique cultural landscape.

Overnight in Chiang Mai

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch

Day 7: Chiang Mai – Luang Prabang

After breakfast, you will go to the airport to catch a flight to Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the nicest cities in Southeast Asia. This holy city is located in northern Laos, where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers meet. It has golden-roofed wats, saffron-robed monks, and old French colonial buildings.

When you get to Luang Prabang airport, our driver and guide will greet you and then take you to your accommodation without a guide. Do the check-in and then relax.

Evening

The guide will pick up and transfer you to Sa Sa Pier for dining on the boat. When you board the boat, the captain will greet you. Enjoy free beverages and be enchanted by Luang Prabang's beauty. Day 8: Luang Prabang City Tour

Morning

Let's go check out the Morning Market, a bustling thoroughfare where you can buy anything from fresh frogs to brightly colored vegetables...

From the busy market, you can go to Wat Mai, one of the city's most ornate monasteries, and Wat Visoun, a temple dating back to the 16th century famous for its large stupa and its collection of antique gilded Buddhas.

Next is the former King's Palace, where you can learn about Luang Prabang's past and present. The old Wat Xieng Thong temple is close by. It has a beautiful low, sweeping roof. It is the most famous and well-known monastery in Luang Prabang.

Afternoon

After lunch at a local restaurant, drive out of the city to visit Ban Xangkhong, the Thai Lue village known for its arts and crafts. We also go to Ban Xienglek, a nearby village that is known for making traditional Saa paper.

Go back to the City and take a short walk around the small roads to see the traditional wooden house of Heuan Chan, which is 100 years old and is called the Chantal wooden house.

Visit the Traditional Art and Ethnology Centre (TAEC), which is the only independent resource center in Laos that is focused on the many different ethnic groups that live there. If you have time, you can visit the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center. It is near the Mekong and has a beautiful, traditional style. Weavers, spinners, and batik makers work there to make high-quality fabrics. Free tours are given every half hour.

When you feel like you've learned enough, you can climb to the top of Mount Phousi, the highest point in the city, where you can see the city and the Mekong River below.

Overnight in Luang Prabang

Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch.

Day 9: Luang Prabang – The Pak Ou Cave - Kuang Si Waterfall

Early morning

At 5:30 a.m., let's wake up early to see the Tak Bak ceremony, also known as "the monks' quest." This is an old Asian Buddhist religious custom that is only kept up in Luang Prabang. Since 2,500 years ago, hundreds of monks have walked barefoot from their temples to the center of the city every morning. In a long line, they slowly walk through the streets to get alms, especially "sticky rice," from people who are religious and are waiting quietly on the sidewalks. In exchange for prayers and blessings, these people give them food, especially "sticky rice."

After you're done, go back to the hotel for breakfast to get full energy before going to two amazing places. The Pak Ou Cave is to the north of Luang Prabang city, and the Kuang Si Waterfall is to the south. This tour will take you to both of them, with a beautiful drive along the Mekong River in between.

Morning

Early in the morning, you'll meet your guide and take a forty-minute drive to the Pak Ou Village. There, you can check out the many crafts that the locals make before taking a small boat across the Mekong River to the base of a limestone cliff, where the Pak Ou Cave is. The lower cave is very impressive, and it is full of statues and relics from Buddhism. Take your time to look around the sacred area, which smells like burning incense and looks out over the beautiful Mekong landscape. Up a winding set of stairs, grab a flashlight, and you'll find another interesting cave with ancient Buddhist relics that is easy to get around in before lunch.

Afternoon

After that, we'll take a boat across the Mekong River again and then drive 1.5 hours downriver to the famous Kuang Si Waterfall. On the way, we'll stop at the well-known Whiskey Village and try some Lao Lao made in the area. All year long, the jungle around the waterfall stays lush and beautiful. During the dry season, the water is calm and turquoise. During the rainy season, the water is loud and powerful. In either case, you'll get to enjoy the fresh air and beauty of nature. An Asiatic Bear Sanctuary is built into the landscape. Here, you can see these beautiful animals up close and help take care of the animals in the area.

Late in the afternoon, we'll drive back to Luang Prabang so you can do your own thing in the evening.

Overnight in Luang Prabang

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch.

Day 10: Luang Prabang – Vang Vieng

Take your time in the morning before heading to Vang Vieng.

You will arrive in the beautiful village of Vang Vieng, which is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by tall limestone cliffs. Take a quiet boat ride on the Nam Song River later in the afternoon or early evening to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the sunset over the lake.

Day 11: Vang Vieng

Take a full-day kayaking and hiking tour to see the beautiful, untouched landscape near Vang Vieng.

In the morning, drive 14 km (9 mi) north of Vang Vieng to see some of the area's cool caves. One of them is Tham Sang (Elephant Cave), which is named for the stalactite that looks like an elephant. Another is Tham Hoi (Snail Cave), which is named for the snail-shaped formations near its entrance. Go into the dark cave that goes down 2 kilometers into the mountain.

Next is the Tham Nam (Water Cave), which has a cool pool of water at its entrance that is perfect for swimming or floating on an inner tube.

After lunch, take a one-hour hike through rice paddies and vegetable gardens to the Hmong village of Phathao.

After you have had some time to look about the village, take a 4-hour kayak ride back to Vang Vieng along the Nam Song River. You will see peaceful sights of rural life with the limestone mountains rising behind them.

Overnight in Vang Vieng

Meals included: Breakfast | Lunch.

Day 12: Vang Vieng – Vientiane

This morning, you will go to Vientiane, the capital of Laos, which is on the banks of the Mekong River.

Vientiane was the capital when it was first built in 1563. It was also the administrative center throughout the French colonial period. It is now the country's main economic center, thanks to recent expansion in the economy.

Afternoon

We set out to see the city's most famous sight, Wat Si Saket, and its storied collection of thousands of Buddha statues, which legend has warded off the Siamese invasion of 1828.

Go to the Buddha Park, which is outside the city. Wat Xieng Khuan is another name for this famous sculpture park. It has more than 200 religious monuments, including a huge Buddha figure that is 40 meters tall. The best part of the park is the huge gourd construction that gives you 360-degree views. You can get to it by a demon's mouth entrance and a stone stairway. Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat, a monk who knew both Buddhism and Hinduism, built the park in 1958. It has statues of Hindu gods, devils, and animals from both religions. Some of the most famous sculptures include Indra, the monarch of the Hindu gods, riding a three-headed elephant (Erawan or Airavata), a four-armed god on a horse, and a twelve-faced god with many hands, each with its own unique intricacies and meaning. After touring, cool off with some traditional foods like papaya salad, fried bananas, and cold Lao beer at a restaurant by the Mekong River (extra fees may apply).

Day 14: Hanoi City

Explore the attractive city of Hanoi, known as the 'Paris of the East', with its yellow ochre colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards, and picturesque lakes.

Begin by visiting Ho Chi Minh's House, a basic wooden structure in a peaceful environment where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked. Some of his possessions are on display, and visitors can climb the steps to see his bedroom.

Continue to the 6th-century Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hanoi's oldest pagoda, which is located on a small island in West Lake. Tour the 11th-century Taoist Quan Thanh Temple, which features a combination of imperial architectural styles and is accentuated by a spacious yard shaded by a giant banyan tree and a shrine with a famous bronze figure of Tran Vu, one of Taoism's primary deities.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first national university, which was erected in the late 11th century. The gorgeous temple is an example of well-preserved traditional Vietnamese architecture, and it appears on the reverse of the 100,000 Vietnamese dong banknote.

Tour the Hoa Lo Prison (formerly known as the "Hanoi Hilton"), which was used by the French from 1896 until 1954 to detain Vietnamese political prisoners before housing American POWs. While just a portion of the original complex remains, the displays offer a Vietnamese perspective through images and essays about the foreign countries involved in Vietnam's recent history.

Finish the day with an engaging water puppet show, a particularly northern Vietnamese art form claimed to have originated in the Red River Delta's flooded rice fields, when villagers entertained themselves by maneuvering puppets across the water. The play uses colorful wooden puppets to depict stories from Vietnamese folklore.

Return to the hotel for rest.

Visit the Precious Heritage Museum, which houses Réhahn's Precious Heritage Collection, for more of its permanent display. The collection will take you to the most remote regions of Vietnam and reveal the intricate cultural fabric of the country's ethnic minorities.

Visiting the Reaching Out Tea House, owned and maintained by mute and deaf people, is the highlight of the day. The tea house is a peaceful haven in the heart of the Old District, otherwise full of noise and activity. In this establishment, you can expect to be served wonderful Eastern-style tea and tasty sweets.

It's time to start exploring Hoi An's delicious street food. You'll get to eat at stalls frequented by locals and savor the region's cuisine alongside them as your guide leads you through the maze of narrow streets. At 4 o'clock every day, the streets of Hoi An are flooded with dozens of merchants hawking anything from fresh fruit to grilled pork. The street food tour is a fantastic way to get a taste of some of the local specialties like Banh Mi, meet the people who prepare them, and see how the natives of Hoi An organize their condiment trays.

Day 18: Hoi An Wood Carving Class

Unleash your creativity and learn a timeless talent in this 3-hour wood carving session, located in the serene town of Gonoi, approximately 17 kilometers from Hoi An—the ideal escape from the tourist crowds.

On your way from Hoi An to our workshop, you'll pass through peaceful rice fields, twisting rivers, and a picturesque countryside landscape. Take your time, admire the beauty of rural Vietnam, and enjoy some solitude away from the masses.

Once you arrive at the gate, meet our skilled artist, who will give you a quick tour of two incredible art rooms. First, enter the realm of the father, a renowned national artist, whose small Museum features huge sculptures that bring Vietnamese history and culture to life. Then, head into the next room to see the son's modern carvings, which showcase his love of anime and modern characters.

After a quick tour of the facility, we're traveling to the riverside class, with lush corn fields and mountains in the distance. Step-by-step instructions will be provided for carving your wood art frame with a chisel. Don't worry if you run into any trouble; the artisans will rush in to assist you right away. Under the supervision of a skilled Vietnamese artisan, you'll use chisels and ancient tools to transform a simple block of wood into gorgeous frame art, revealing hidden designs such as flowers, animals, or whatever inspires you.

Day 19: Hoi An – Hue

You will be taken from your hotel in Hoi An to your hotel in Hue by private car in the morning. Hue was the imperial city of the Nguyen Lords from the 17th to the 19th century. It's beautiful. Emperors' tombs, old pagodas, and the ruins of the Citadel all add to its unquestionable regal allure.

Visit the Imperial Citadel, which is in the middle of the Complex of Hue Monuments and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk through the tall main gate and enjoy the beautiful buildings and gardens while your guide tells you about the drama and intrigue that surrounded the former royal court. Even though it was bombarded a lot during the Vietnam War, some parts are still in great shape, and others are being meticulously repaired.

You can take a short trip to the Royal Antique Museum once you leave the citadel. You can visit one of two royal tombs:

(1) The Tu Duc Royal Tomb is the most spectacular of all the royal mausoleums. Emperor Tu Duc built it between 1864 and 1867. Tu Duc had 104 wives and many concubines, yet he did not leave any heirs to the throne. There is a tomb in the complex, along with pavilions and temples, but no one knows exactly where Tu Duc was buried because all 200 of the servants who buried the monarch were executed to keep grave robbers from finding out where he was buried.

(2) The Khai Dinh Royal Tomb has a lot of different styles of building that show off both Eastern and Western art. The Khai Dinh Royal Tomb is smaller than many of the other tombs, but it is more colorful. The side walls going up to the tomb are made up of the biggest dragons in the country. The tomb's outside is blackened concrete, and the inside is a colorful mosaic. The main building is big and has murals depicting the Four Seasons, Eight Precious Objects, and Eight Fairies on the walls.

Go back to your hotel after visiting the tomb.

You will go on a half-day tour of Hue to learn more about this beautiful city. Take a dragon boat to the first place, Thien Mu Pagoda (Heaven Fairy Lady Pagoda), which is the oldest pagoda in Hue City. The morning boat ride to the pagoda will be a great way to start the trip. The Perfume River's fresh air will make you feel very good. Visit The Citadel. The Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam's last royal family, lived in the Imperial City. After the Citadel, our car will take you to the Dong Ba market, which is Hue's busiest and has a lot of different foods and goods. You can see how people in the area buy and sell things here. This is also a chance to buy gifts for your family and friends.

Day 21: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnel

Morning

After breakfast, you will be greeted by your guide and driven to Cu Chi, a small village located northwest of Ho Chi Minh City known for its network of subterranean tunnels that served as a haven and successful infiltration route for the Viet Cong during the closing stages of the Vietnam War.

Upon arrival, you will view a brief instructional movie before visiting the tunnels, the most renowned battlegrounds of the period. It is thought that the concealed network of Viet Cong tunnels spanned "hundreds of miles" in total length and contained living quarters, storage areas, temporary hospitals, kitchens, etc. Although the system was initially somewhat narrow, some sections have been enlarged for tourists, and you have the option to explore them.

Please note that these tunnels will be hot and claustrophobic, so if you want to watch from above ground, that is an option.

Cassava, the staple diet of the Viet Cong soldiers, is served alongside a tart tea. After exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels, return to the city with lunch at the local restaurant on the way.

Afternoon

Spend the remainder of the day touring Ho Chi Minh City's major attractions. The Notre Dame Cathedral, the ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville), the old Opera House, the historic Rex Hotel, the Central Post Office, renowned for its architecture, and Ben Thanh Market, where vendors display a vast array of goods and handicrafts, appealing to every taste, are particularly recommended.

Later, visit the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum for a somber and enlightening look at Vietnam's military history and violent past.

This region, known as the "rice bowl" of Vietnam, provides the majority of the country's fruit, rice, sugar cane, and coconuts.

After a two-hour journey through verdant farmland, you will arrive in Ben Tre, where you will go on a motorized boat tour through the coconut forest's small channels. During the boat voyage, you will stop at local cottage enterprises to observe how the craft has been passed down through the centuries.

Take a stroll through the village lanes, stopping at local homes to sample fresh fruits and honey tea while hearing a Tai Tu music performance. Continue to another workshop where coconut candies and a variety of coconut husk and fiber products are manufactured by hand.

Take a small sampan through palm-fringed back canals, sailing calmly over secluded rivers surrounded by a vast array of tropical vegetation. The tranquil, rural location is a refreshing and therapeutic escape from the frantic bustle of HCM City, which appears to be in the distance.

Enjoy meeting locals while riding at the back of a Motor Cart (xe lôi) around rural hamlets, rice fields, coconut trees, and luscious orchard farms.

Afternoon

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will return to Ben Tre town and continue driving through the Mekong's fields and towns to Can Tho city, stopping if time allowed at the Vinh Trang Pagoda.

The voyage provides a leisurely first-hand travel experience along the waterways of the Mekong and a comfortable, relatively stress-free way to cross the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. The journey is a good chance to make new acquaintances with fellow passengers, learn about the region from the boat’s staff, and sip a couple of cold beverages while passing the area’s quintessential agricultural scenes.

After breakfast, the guide will take you to the harbor, where to will get the speedboat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh. The voyage takes around 5 hours and 30 minutes (including the border crossing). Departing Châu Đốc in Vietnam at 7:30 am and reaching Sisowath tourist dock in Phnom Penh in Cambodia at 1.00 pm. After you clear customs at Phnom Penh, your driver will pick you up and take you to the hotel.

Day 27: Siem Reap – Angkor Wat

Today, with the assistance of your guide and driver, you will spend an entire day touring the 400-square-kilometer Angkor Archaeological Park, which includes forested areas. The park features the beautiful ruins of five Khmer capitals from the ninth to the fifteenth century.

Morning

Begin with an early pickup from your accommodation in an air-conditioned car, then go to the main entrance of Angkor Wat to witness the breathtaking dawn over this ancient and mystical structure.

Avoid the crowds by beginning your day with a visit to the 13th-century Ta Prohm, a hauntingly beautiful temple where the roots of giant banyans and strangler figs entwine much of the stonework, creating scenes that have changed little since the French explorer Henri Mouhot rediscovered Angkor in 1863. This temple makes the 'Tomb Raider Temple' one of the most memorable and magnificent Angkor monuments.

Continue your explorations by visiting Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Great Khmer Empire, which once dominated a large portion of Southeast Asia. This city is enclosed by an 8-meter-tall wall that forms a perfect square. You will enter the city through the old South Gate, a colossal stone gate engraved with four enormous faces and elephants. A row of 54 gods or demons holds the sacred Naga serpent on each side of the entranceway.

Return to the hotel for a break from the midday heat at the hotel.

Afternoon

Your adventures will continue when you visit the late 12th-century Buddhist monastery Banteay Kdei ("Citadel of Chambers") and Sra Srang, also known as the "pool of ablutions." The Bayon Temple is located in the precise center of the historic city. This majestic masterpiece from the 12th century is famous for its 54 towers with mysterious faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.

Both the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are noted for their exquisite bas-reliefs; therefore, you will also see them. On your stroll through the grounds of the ancient Royal Palace, you will see several little-visited, secret temples.

Take a leisurely gondola boat ride across the moats of Angkor Thom to end your day of touring. Imagine the royal metropolis when it controlled over two million people nearly 800 years ago in peaceful isolation. As the sun approaches the horizon, make your way to Prasat Chrung, a modest temple built in the manner of Bayon, and ascend an iron staircase to a secluded spot for spectacular views of the ruins at sunset.

After the visit, stop for a picnic at a nearby waterfall, where you can enjoy grilled chicken with seasonal fruits and swim in the waterfalls before heading deep into the rainforest to explore Beng Melea, a mysterious 12th-century jungle from the Angkor Wat period that has been overgrown with 300 years of vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses.

Continue the trek by boat to Kampong Phluk, a floating village. Witness the daily life of fishermen's families that live in brightly colored stilt cottages. Boating through the flooded splendor of a mangrove forest, home to a variety of animals, including crab-eating macaques.

Visas

1. Vietnam

If you need a visa for Vietnam, you need to get one before your trip. You can't get one immediately when you get there because it takes processing time. If you are going to enter Vietnam through a land border, you will need to apply for a regular Vietnam visa. The Vietnam E-Visa is not accepted at many of the land borders we cross. You can apply for the e-visa to visit Vietnam through the website:

https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/trang-chu-ttdt. Entry to Vietnam with an eVisa is supported at 13 airports, 16 land borders, and 13 seaports - details can be found here

2. Thailand

Most people from most countries do not need a visa to visit Thailand for 30 days or less, but if you do, you can get one when you get to Bangkok Airport. You will need to get a vacation visa ahead of time if you plan to stay in Thailand for more than 30 days. When you enter Thailand by land, you can only get a tourist visa good for 15 days.

New requirement to enter Thailand – starting May 1, 2025

Starting on this date, all foreign travellers must complete the Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at least 3 days before their arrival. Review the requirements and complete the form at: http://tdac.immigration.go.th

3. Cambodia

We suggest that you apply for your Cambodian tourist visa online so that you do not have to wait as long at the border. This will make your trip better overall.

Ways to get it:

Online: Get your Cambodian e-Visa at least seven days before your trip. The cost is about USD 36. Click on the page below and choose "VISA T." If you are coming by land, the port of entry is "Bavet." If you take a flight, the port of entry is "Phnom Penh Airport." Visit https://www.evisa.gov.kh/ to get your visa.

On Arrival: If you were unable to process the visa online, do not worry—you can get one at the Cambodian border when you arrive. If this happens, you will need to bring a passport-sized picture (35 x 45 mm) and USD 36 to pay the tax.

4. Laos

You can, for a fee, obtain visas-on-arrival and e-visas.

Laos E-Visa

If you are eligible to apply for a Laos E-Visa, please follow the links below for further information and application:

  • E-Visa Details here
  • E-Visa Terms and Conditions here
  • Apply for E-Visa here

Note:

  • If applying for the Laos E-Visa, please enter the entry port name as per below.
  • If you travel by air: Wattay International Airport (Vientiane Capital)
  • If you travel by land from Thailand: Lao–Thai Friendship Bridge IV

Visas-on-arrival

Please be aware that to process the visa-on-arrival, you will need:

• Passport with at least 6 months validity

• 2 blank pages for entry and exit stamps at the border control

• Passport photograph (digital or hardcopy) 4x6cm size

• USD 40 for visa processing

Travel Insurance

Your next trip is going to be exciting, and while you hope nothing bad happens, it is best to be ready just in case. When you book your trip, we highly advise that you get travel insurance. It is important to make sure you are properly protected in case of a medical disaster, a flight cancellation, a lost suitcase, or something else that you can not plan for.

What to Take

What you need to bring depends on the trip you choose and the countries or regions you plan to visit. Since you have to carry your bags, we suggest that you pack as little as possible. As a general rule, we try to make sure you don't have to walk with your bags for more than 15 to 20 minutes. This is why we suggest keeping the weight of your bags between 10-15kg/22-30lb. On Amazing trips, you shouldn't bring a suitcase. Most travelers bring a small to medium-sized backpack or rolling bag (please, no XXL ones!) because they need to fit under the beds on sleeper trains. You will also need a day pack or bag to carry water, cameras, and other electronics like iPods and cell phones.

Laundry

Some of our hotels have laundry rooms that cost extra. There will be times when you want to or have to do your own laundry, so we recommend that you bring soap that doesn't harm the environment and doesn't build up in the water.

Money exchange

Since currency exchange rates in Asia change often, you should check www.xe.com every day for the most up-to-date rates. There are a lot of ATMs that take both Visa and Mastercard, but most of them are only in big cities. Most transactions are done with US dollars, and we recommend that you bring a small USD unmarked note. Some shops will use credit cards, but there may be a 2-4% fee for the transaction.

Tipping

As a general rule, people in Asia leave tips for waiters and other service workers, usually around 10% of the bill. Tipping is expected but not required and demonstrates gratitude to tour guides. Although it may not be conventional to you, it is important to your travel companions. In numerous places during the journey, we can tip our local guides or drivers. You can do this alone, or your tour designer will offer to collect and tip in groups. Ask your tour designer for particular recommendations based on conditions and culture for tipping drivers and local guides, which range from $1.5 to $3.5 USD per person each day depending on quality and length of service.
